Digital Movers is growing fast and therefor nice to do some introductions of the people behind the brand – for those who do not know him yet – the face behind the company, the driving force and the ultimate mover: Mathias Aaftink. Let’s ask him some questions!
What is your role at Digital Movers?
My role differs from thinking strategically with our customers and helping them to gain more results, to setting up the campaigns itself. Moreover, I am helping our staff to get the best results out of the campaigns.

Guiding organizations’ digital movement into the right direction: growth
Digital marketing offers everything that we stand for: it brings results, it lets you step into the unknown and build from there with the data you gather. When you do it correctly, you can bring your consumer enormous value with delivering them the right offer.
Personally, I wanted to start Digital Movers because I always like to add value to the people and organizations we are helping and get them moving into the digital space. In my journey I have seen a lot of organizations struggle and having trouble with digital marketing. From my perspective, it is a joy to help them with gaining more knowledge and guiding their digital movement into the right direction: growth.
Looking back on the past four years
I think our biggest achievement so far was doing enormous campaigns like the Feyenoord campaign and the Keune in collaboration with Televizier Ring campaign. Although these were more “branding” campaigns, it was a joy to work for such big brands. Moreover, it was really inspiring to think about the concepts and the activation part of it. Next to these, I still think that webshops and the growth of these webshops are a monthly achievement on itself. As you need to keep focusing on results and bring continuous results to these clients, it also asks something from you as a digital marketer.
I think I am most proud of the team we are working with. We have a very specialized team of professionals. They are always pushing themselves to the next level, whether it is in their personal development or in their work skills.

The company should be as solid in skillset as Merkle in five years
We are growing rapidly so our next milestone is getting people on board with the same DNA as the current people in our team. Our next milestone, business wise, will be that we will step more and more into the data part of digital marketing. This is becoming increasingly important to get an even better understanding of the current consumers and how they interact with brands on- and off site.
We have said that the company should be as solid in skillset as a company like Merkle within the next five years. This should be easy with the right people and clients on board!

Meet the man behind the professional
Sports, drinks with friends, and family: my life in a nutshell. My two sons and girlfriend are making me happy, while my friends are always inspiring me to take the next jump. I am inspired by the things my friends have achieved so far. However, I think the most inspiring thing of all is having little kids (when they are not sick). Why? Because they are pure and without any boundaries. This inspires me each day and lets me see that the strength of staying true to yourself is the most powerful thing you can do.
Besides that, in my free time I am an active sportsman, as it keeps my mind fresh. I like to have drinks as well. Combining both is even better!
